M.J. Coldwell School is located in the city's north end in the Uplands neighbourhood. (Google Maps)Students were hustled out of a Regina elementary school Wednesday because of a natural gas leak.
The leak, which originated in a gas line behind M. J. Coldwell School on the city's north side, was found around 8:30 a.m. CST when someone smelled gas.
Officials ordered the school evacuated and buses were lined up by 9 to take students away.
A crew from SaskEnergy arrived and was fixing the leak around 10 a.m. That was expected to be completed within the hour.
While that was going on, some 240 students and adults stayed at the school board office.
It's expected they'll be back in the school by noon, officials said.
No one was hurt.
