Public school board trustees in Regina have decided to replace Connaught School, built in 1912, rather than repair it.
The trustees were acting on a study that concluded upgrades to Connaught would cost more than constructing a new school.
Some people have been fighting to preserve Connaught because of its heritage value.
They hoped to persuade the board to delay a decision on Connaught, to provide more time to explore other options.
