Bus topples pole at bus stop, woman seriously hurt

The bus was headed east on Hamilton when it knocked down a pole, which struck a woman waiting at a bus stop.

Police in Regina are investigating an accident involving a pedestrian and a city bus, in the downtown. (CBC)A woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a pole that a bus knocked over in downtown Regina Friday afternoon.
According to police, the accident happened around 5:22 p.m. CST on 11th Avenue and Hamilton Street.
Police said the woman, 50, suffered a head injury.
A witness who came to the woman's aid said it appeared to be very serious.
"[She] didn't have no pulse and was turning blue when she was on the stretcher," Michael Baumet told CBC News. "So hoping she survives and hoping for the best for her."
Police said they were still investigating how the bus came to strike the pole.
The bus was operated by a 39-year-old male. There were four passengers. No one else was injured in the incident.
Police said their investigation was continuing.
