The bodies of two people have been found in the rubble of a home near Yellow Creek, Sask., which was destroyed in a fire Thursday.

The fire was so intense that investigators had to wait a day before they could begin to search the home.

Police have not identified the bodies, but two people who live in the home, a middle-aged couple, are unaccounted for.

Family and friends have told CBC News they have not heard from the people who lived in the home.

The remains were found shortly after 1 p.m. CST Friday.

Police said they will be taken to Saskatoon City Hospital for an identification autopsy.

Emergency crews were sent to the home Thursday morning but found the house had been consumed by fire.
