Icy conditions spurring numerous rollovers, accidents

Cars, semis and cows were involved in some of the many crashes on Saskatchewan highways Thursday.
The Highways Ministry issued numerous "travel not recommended" warnings, with swirling snow and bad visibility around Saskatoon, Regina, Swift Current and other areas.
Over five hours in the morning, the RCMP were called to numerous crashes, rollovers and road blockages, including:
- a jacknifed semi 20 kilometres west of Moose Jaw on the Trans-Canada Highway.
- several semis that were stuck in the valley on Highway 6 near Southey.
- a semi-trailer blocking the Trans-Canada near the town of Mclean.
- two cows that were reportedly struck on Highway 4, about 12 kilometres north of Swift Current.
- a vehicle rollover on the Trans-Canada just outside Moose Jaw.
- near Regina, a sport utility vehicle that rolled just past the Grand Coulee turnoff.
- a single-vehicle rollover, approximately seven kilometres east of Moose Jaw on the Trans-Canada.
- a flat deck truck that ended up on its side in the centre ditch about 10 kilometres east of Regina on the Trans-Canada.
- a jackknifed semi near the intersection of Highway 6 and Highway 39.
Saskatoon police and MD Ambulance also reported numerous crashes and rollovers in the morning.
At around 10:30 a.m. on Circle Drive near the Attridge Drive overpass, a semi-trailer was traveling north when it lost control and ended up on the center median facing south.
