Saskatoon cops nab 2 after slow chase on icy roads
Streets slippery, suspects not so much

The roads are so icy in Saskatoon, even criminal suspects with the police on their tail have to be careful.
On Thursday, following what the Saskatoon Police Service described as a low-speed pursuit through slippery streets, two men were charged with possession of stolen property and failing to stop for police.
The chase started outside the city around 12:30 a.m. CST when the RCMP spotted a car that had been reported stolen in North Battleford.
Officers turned on their emergency lights and tried to get the car to pull over, but it kept going into neighbourhoods on Saskatoon's west side.
"Speeds were low due to the extremely icy road conditions," police said in a news release.
Police set out stop sticks — long bars with spikes on them to flatten a vehicle's tires — which failed on a first attempt but were successful on a second try a short time later.
The two men got out and made a run for it. Police, with the help of a police dog, tracked down two men, ages 19 and 22.
The police gang unit is investigating and more charges are possible.
The two men remain in custody pending their first court appearance.
MD Ambulance said Saskatoon road conditions were slippery overnight, with seven crashes. They're advising people to drive with extreme caution.
