Saskatoon police say they have reviewed video from their vehicles and have found nothing to substantiate allegations one their officers mistreated a teenager.

Early Tuesday morning, Laurie Bull, the mother of 19-year-old Drayton Bull, phoned police to say her son had been taken by police to the outskirts of the city in -20C weather and left stranded.

Police said the first thing they did was to use GPS logs to determine that no city police cars were in the area at the time. They also said no member of the police service did a computer check at the time of the alleged incident.

The final check was the video, which police said is activated in all cars when the back doors are opened.

The Bull family's complaints were quickly circulated on social media, with some people saying it was another case of a "starlight tour" — a reference to past cases of police mistreatment that have involved aboriginal people.

Police believe the pair have given statements to the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations, but that information has not been forwarded to them.
