2 die in crash of pick-up truck and train in Whitewood, Sask.

Two people are dead following a crash between a pick-up truck and a train in Whitewood, Sask., Friday afternoon.
RCMP said the crash happened at 3:30 p.m. CST in the community, which is about 167 kilometres east of Regina.
Police said the truck was headed south on Highway 9, on the eastern edge of town, when it collided with a moving train that was westbound.
They say two people in the truck died at the scene.
No names were released.
The accident was under investigation and the road near the scene was closed.
There was no immediate word on the status of the train.
