There was chaos in the eastbound lanes of Saskatoon's University Bridge Monday morning when five vehicles crashed.
The chain of collisions happened just before 8 a.m. CST when one car lost control and collided with oncoming traffic.
Road conditions were extremely icy at the time, according to Saskatoon police. The temperature was around -30C.
Five people were taken to hospital by MD Ambulance for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The car hit an Access Transit van, which was carrying passengers with disabilities, head-on.
The car's driver and a passenger in the van were taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
The accident backed up traffic through the downtown, but by 10, traffic was returning to normal in downtown Saskatoon.
