The Saskatoon Health Region held a drop-in flu shot clinic Saturday morning because of high demand for immunizations.
The clinic ran from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Northeast Health Centre, just off Attridge Drive on Ludlow Street.
The region's Deputy Medical Health Officer, Dr. Julie Kryzanowski, said in a news release that more people have been asking for the shot in recent days.
"People are telling us they are concerned given what they’re seeing in the media about the influenza outbreaks in the United States and other parts of the world," she said in the release.
The Saskatoon Health Region has seen 117 confirmed cases of influenza this winter, as of Jan. 10. Of those, 31 per cent of patients required hospitalization.
If you missed getting your shot at the drop-in clinic, you can always check out the Health Region's website for a list of doctors offering the immunizations at their clinc.
