An elderly driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act after her sport utility vehicle crashed into the Regina General Hospital on Thursday morning.

It happened around 7:10 a.m. CST close to the hospital's front entrance.

The woman told police she thought she had hit the brake, but the SUV kept going onto the sidewalk and then slammed into an office window.

The SUV remained outside the building until the accident scene was cleaned up later in the morning.

There were no injuries, either to the driver or anyone in the hospital.

The woman, 75, was charged with driving without due care and attention.
