Saskatoon's Midtown Plaza was the scene of the latest Idle No More event, as hundreds of people took part in a brief Round Dance to draw attention to the protest movement.

Some 400 to 500 people were on both upper and lower levels of the mall for the flash mob event, which lasted about 10 minutes. Another 1,000 or so shoppers watched the event.

The Idle No More movement is associated with people concerned about federal legislation that affects First Nations and the environment.

Described as a grassroots campaign, the movement has featured rallies, flash mobs, and marches in order to raise awareness of their concerns.

More events are planned across Saskatchewan and elsewhere — including Ottawa — on Friday.

In Saskatoon, organizers are gathering people at noon at the Vimy War Memorial along the Saskatoon riverbank.

At the same time in Regina, people are set to walk from the corner of Angus Street and 5th Avenue to the grounds of the Saskatchewan Legislature.
