Regina police officer gets ticket for driving into pedestrian

A Regina Police officer has received a ticket for driving into a pedestrian while on duty and seriously injuring him.
The accident happened in September at the corner of Albert Street and Saskatchewan Drive at about 2:45 a.m. CST.
Police said the 10-year veteran was driving to a call in a navy blue, unmarked police SUV and struck a 24-year-old man while making a left turn from Albert Street onto Saskatchewan Drive.
Other officers at the scene told CBC News the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing.
After about a two month investigation, the officer was given a $230 ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian at an intersection or marked crosswalk.
