Highway 1 reopened east of Regina

According to Highway Hotline the Trans-Canada Highway east of Regina has reopened, but travel is still not recommended east of Indian Head, Sask. because of very icy and slippery conditions.
The stretch of highway from the Saskatchewan border to Brandon, Man. remains closed.
Police say about 100 semis are waiting near Indian Head, Sask., until driving conditions improve Saturday morning.
About 400 vehicles became stuck on the highway or in ditches between Indian Head and the Manitoba border since 7 p.m. Friday night.
"We've been told that the RCMP are out directing traffic and steadily getting the semis out of the trouble they were in before," Dana Friesen with Highway Hotline told CBC news.
"It is still quite messy and travel not recommended, so if you don't have to go out, it's probably best not to," she said.
The southeastern part of the province has the most affected areas, with travel not recommended on many roads around Regina, Weyburn and Estevan.
