A customer at a Saskatoon restaurant was injured while trying to stop an armed robber Wednesday morning.
It happened around 1:40 a.m. CST at a restaurant on the 1400 block of 22nd St. W. on the west side of town. Police refused to identify the restaurant.
According to witnesses, a man entered the restaurant and went into the washroom, coming out a few minutes later wearing a ski mask.
He pulled out what looked like a gun and demanded money from an employee.
However, people in the restaurant said the gun was a fake and moved to grab him.
The man then pulled out a knife, cutting a 51-year-old woman, and then ran out of the building.
Now police are searching for the suspect.
He's described as a Caucasian male, 20-25 years old, weighing 120-130 pounds, with a medium build with short blond hair. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, yellow hoodie and blue jeans.
The woman who was attacked went to a hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
Saskatoon police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
