Members of Regina's Syrian community are trying to keep people aware of the ongoing conflict in that country.
Approximately 60 people marched on Saturday down Victoria Avenue, and through Victoria Park, to protest the Syrian government's treatment of its people.
"The general purpose is to raise awareness and to allow the Canadian public to know more about what's going on in Syria, because what is going on is really inhumane," said Amir Aboguddah, who took part in the event.
Many of the protesters say they have friends and loved ones in Syria, so they are trying to help as much as they can in Canada.
"I have family right now over there that could be dead any moment, so we are here to protest and raise awareness and hopefully get someone … to intervene in the crisis," said Chegaf Madarati, of the rally's organizers.
Those who attended the rally are calling on the Canadian government to take stronger action against the regime in Syria.
