Two of three people charged in a double homicide on the Standing Buffalo Dakota First Nation last week made their first appearance in a Saskatchewan court today.
Kody Bear, 22, and a 17-year-old boy were in court in Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., on Monday, charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of Jessica Redman, 27, and Sheldon Yuzicappi, 28.
The 17-year-old cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act because he is a minor.
The two males remain in custody and are scheduled to be in court again in two weeks.
Brittany Bear, 21, who has also been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the double homicide, will appear in a Regina courtroom on Thursday.
The bodies of Redman and Yuzicappi were found last Thursday, after RCMP received a call early that morning.
Both victims were from the reserve, which is about 70 kilometres northeast of Regina.
