Two people are in custody following a hit and run in Regina's northwest Monday night that was followed by a car chase with police.

Regina police say the incident started just after 8 p.m. CST on Blackwood Street, when a stolen pickup truck rammed into a parked truck.

The pickup truck then hit a police cruiser and fled the scene, ending up a few blocks away on Harrison Way, where police say it collided with a parked SUV and a tree.

"I heard this giant bang … it sounded like a bomb was going off, honestly," said Samantha Reid, who lives in the neighbourhood.

There is no word to date on what charges, if any, the pair may face.
