A driver speeding to a hospital over the weekend for what police say was a minor medical issue got slapped with an $834 ticket and had his car impounded.
On Saturday night, officers recorded a car travelling at 194 km/hr on Highway 12 between Martensville and Saskatoon.
When police stopped the car after a short pursuit, they found out the driver was trying to take his passenger to hospital.
Police said the medical issue did not require the urgency or speed the driver was travelling at.
The RCMP have not said what was wrong with the passenger.
The driver had his car taken away and he was given the speeding ticket.
He will have to appear before the Saskatchewan Highway Traffic Board to see how long the car will remain impounded.
