Serious assault in Regina sends man to hospital

A 19-year-old man is in a Regina hospital following what police are describing as a serious assault that took place early Sunday morning.
The man was already at Regina General Hospital when police were notified shortly after 5 a.m. CST about the attack, which investigators believe happened somewhere in East Regina.
The man sustained serious injuries in the assault. Police did not release his name.
In a release, police said they believe an altercation took place at an address in East Regina some hours before he arrived in hospital.
No charges have been laid in connection with the incident to date.
Officers have secured the scene and are interviewing a number of people.
