Father of Mountie-killer in custody on mischief charge

Arthur Dagenais, the man whose son was convicted of murdering two RCMP officers in Saskatchewan, is in custody accused of mischief and improper storage of ammunition.
Curt Dagenais is serving a life sentence for shooting two RCMP officers to death and injuring a third following a chase that ended on a rural back road near Spiritwood, Sask., in 2006.
The mischief charge against his father is alleged to have taken place at or near the Saskatchewan Penitentiary where Dagenais is serving two life sentences.
Arthur Dagenais is set to be back in court on his charges on Tuesday.
Curt Dagenais has appealed his convictions. Court officials said earlier this week that the appeal may be heard as early as this fall.
