A man accused of first degree murder following a fatal fire in Lloydminster in 2010 will not have to stand trial.

The charge, laid against a man whose wife died in a mobile home fire, has been stayed.

The Lloydminster detachment of the RCMP said a full review by an independent fire expert could not determine what started the blaze that killed 68-year-old Irene Mae Bruynooghe in January 2010.

Seventy-four-year-old Nelson Beverly Brown was charged with first-degree murder.

Brown is no longer considered a suspect
