The RCMP are investigating after a 25-year-old was shot on the Piapot First Nation over the weekend.

It happened Sunday morning at about 6:15 a.m., but police didn't get a call about the incident until the man arrived in Regina.

Police said the man was walking through the main road of the reserve when a blue vehicle drove by and the man was shot at.

He was able to walk to a home, where he got a ride to Regina.

He is currently in hospital in serious condition.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
