A Saskatoon woman who entered a radio station contest and spent nine days in a Mitsubishi Lancer with several men has won the car.
The idea was to see who could stay in the car the longest and when it was over, Kendra Olesen, 23, and two men remained.
Throughout the ordeal, the contestants were allowed bathroom breaks, but had to eat and sleep in the car.
Kendra Olesen, 23, won a car in a radio station contest after spending nine days in the vehicle. Devin Heroux/CBCWhen the nine days were over, each of the three was given a key to try in the ignition. Olesen's worked, and so she got the car.
Olesen has two young children, twins, and she says they have been asking all week if they could get in the car. Now they can.
"Honestly, this helps me out so so much," she said. "I totalled my car and now I get this one ... I will cherish [it] now."
The contest, sponsored by Saskatoon FM station 96.3, was held at the Midtown Plaza.
"The whole journey was totally worth it," Olesen said. "I am very determined and stubborn. They put three people who are probably the worst, most stubborn people to actually be in this car together and that's why we all stuck it out."
Olesen said she plans to continue being friends with the other contestants.
