There was no immediate word in injuries but four youngsters and two adults survived a rollover crash of a camper-trailer outside Regina. (Cameron MacIntosh/CBC)A truck pulling a camper was blown off the highway and upended Tuesday as severe weather continued to pummel parts of Saskatchewan.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 8 p.m. CST to Highway 11 about 10 kilometres northwest of Regina.
According to CBC News reporter Cameron MacIntosh four children and two adults were in the vehicle and survived the crash.
No one was inside the camper that was in tow. It too was smashed and lay on its side, ripped away from the truck, in the centre median of the four-lane highway.
It was not immediately known if there were any injuries.
Communities across Saskatchewan have endured two days in a row of violent weather, with reports of tornadoes spotted in the southwest and heavy downpours drenching some areas.
The weather was also playing havoc with power service and communications systems.
Officials from SaskTel said parts of their network were not functioning, because of power failures.
There were reports of power outages in parts of Saskatoon Tuesday evening, adding to a long list of places that were in the dark because of the weather.
