Youth, 16, dies in ATV crash near Whitewood

A 16-year-old youth is dead following a crash between an ATV he was operating and a vehicle on a rural road near Whitewood, Sask., RCMP say.
The crash was reported to the Broadview detachment of the RCMP around 11:26 a.m. CST Tuesday.
Emergency crews were dispatched but police said the youth was dead at the scene.
They said the driver of the vehicle, a 36-year-old man from Regina, was taken to hospital in Broadview with undetermined injuries.
Police said they were still investigating the crash, which took place at the intersection of two grid roads northeast of Whitewood.
An RCMP collision reconstruction expert is helping.
No names were released.
Whitewood is about 167 kilometres east of Regina.
