A major hotel and office complex slated for Saskatoon's River Landing area was back on the agenda at city hall this week.
On Tuesday, the city's municipal planning committee got an update on the multimillion dollar project being developed by Saskatoon's Victory Majors Investments Corp. at 200 Spadina Cr. E.
The city has been through a few false starts getting a major development on the site, but this one continues to move forward.
Included in the proposed complex is a 27-storey residential building, a 17-storey office tower and a 15-storey hotel and residential building. There's also a central plaza with pathways linking the complex to other places in the riverbank park area.
City planners feel the complex is a good fit for downtown-area River Landing. It will be located next to the Persephone Theatre and the yet-to-be constructed Remai Art Gallery.
They're recommending that council approve the developer's application.
It's expected the proposal will be on the agenda at council's next meeting.
The proposed development will go in the River Landing area on the north shore of the South Saskatchewan River, south of the downtown. (City of Saskatoon)
