Grass fire east of Regina destroys barn

Fire crews used a physical barrier cut into a grid road to stop a grass fire near White City. (CBC)A grass fire near White City, east of Regina, took out a barn before firefighters were able to stop the blaze from doing further damage.
Crews were called to the fire around 3 p.m. CST Thursday.
While the barn was lost, no one was hurt.
Firefighters said strong winds, gusting close to 80 km/hour, fanned the flames.
They managed to prevent the blaze from spreading any further by creating a barrier on a grid road.
