Nuclear innovation centre gets $30M

Provincial money for the Saskatoon-based Canadian Centre for Nuclear Innovation was announced on Tuesday.
The centre will focus on everything from nuclear medicine to small reactor design.
Interim director John Root said the centre will bring together researchers from all across the university landscape.
"That multi-disciplinary conversation sometimes creates the opportunity for discovery and innovation that would not have happened if everyone was sitting in their own department," Root said.
The money will be spread over the next seven to eight years. Proposals will be accepted later this spring.
