Saskatchewan RCMP say they believe alcohol was a factor in a highway crash near Estevan, Sask., that killed a woman from Midale, Sask., and sent two men from Manitoba to hospital.

The 43-year-old woman died in the two-vehicle collision Saturday night on Highway 39, about 10 kilometres northwest of Estevan.

The crash took place when a car driven by a 22-year-old Manitoba man crossed the centre line and hit the woman's car head-on, according to police.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say she was the lone occupant of the car that was struck.

The driver and his 44-year-old passenger were removed from their car and transported to a hospital in Regina, where they were both listed in serious condition as of Monday morning.

RCMP did not release the names of the three people involved in Saturday's crash. Police did not specify where in Manitoba the men are from.
