Estevan, Sask.

One person has died and two others are in hospital after two vehicles collided on Highway 39 northwest of Estevan, Sask., late Saturday night.

The two vehicles crashed about 10 kilometres northwest of Estevan, according to an RCMP release issued shortly after 11:30 p.m. CST.

One person was declared deceased at the scene. Two people were taken to hospital with what police described as undetermined injuries.

The stretch of Highway 39 where the crash took place was closed in both directions for several hours while Estevan police, RCMP, firefighters and paramedics were at the scene.

The highway reopened to traffic at around 4 a.m.
