A house party that degenerated into a violent brawl sent three people to hospital with stab wounds, according to police in Saskatoon.
Police said they were called around 2 a.m. CST Saturday to a home in the 3200 block of Diefenbaker Drive.
"Officers discovered that a house party had deteriorated into an altercation between several of the invited guests," police said in a news release issued Saturday. "In the aftermath of the disturbance, three persons were found to be suffering from an assortment of stab wounds."
Police said an ambulance was called and two of the injured partiers were taken to hospital. They said a third victim had already been taken to hospital by other people at the party.
All were in serious but stable condition.
Police arrested a suspect at the house and are interviewing others. There was no immediate word on charges.
"Additional arrests and charges may be forthcoming," police said. "However, several of the subjects involved have been less than cooperative, which is hampering the efforts of police investigators."
Police said they have forensic specialists on the scene and their Street Gang Unit is also involved in the investigation.
