A truck driver has been charged after a semi hauling a flammable liquid was struck by a train Wednesday morning.

It happened around 9:40 a.m. CST at a Canadian Pacific railway crossing on Highway 39 near Pasqua, Sask.

The driver started to go through the crossing, not noticing the oncoming train, the RCMP said.

The train then hit the front of the semi.

The truck was damaged but nothing spilled. The driver wasn't injured.

Alcohol was not a factor, the RCMP said.

The driver was charged with failing to obey a stop signal at a railway crossing.
