The Saskatoon Hilltops have captured their second Canadian Junior Football League title in a row.

The Hilltops crushed the Hamilton Hurricanes 29-1 on Saturday to win the Canadian Bowl Championship at Ivor Wynne Stadium, the Hurricanes' home turf.

"This one hasn't really set in yet, but I think when I start to look back on it and let it set in, it'll be pretty special," running back Regan Schuler, who was named offensive player of the game, told CBC News on Sunday.

"We had a great group of guys, great group of coaches, and you know, it means a lot."

Safety Graig Newman, who had three interceptions and was named the game's best defensive player, said he is happy to be wrapping up his fifth and final season of junior football with the victory.

"That's something I'll remember for the rest of my life," Newman said. "Not a lot of people get a chance for one, let alone two…This is a great feeling right now."

Head coach Tom Sargeant said he plans to enjoy the team's latest accomplishment, but he is already looking forward to doing it again next year.

"At some point in time, you've got to move on to reality and you got to start looking into the future," he said.

"There's always more great things to happen when you're associated to the tradition of the Saskatoon Hilltops."

The Hilltops won three titles in a row between 2001 and 2003. This year's win is the team's 15th national title in total.
