A new report says Saskatchewan could create an economic boom if the province's aboriginal population were better educated.

The report, by University of Saskatchewan economist Eric Howe for the Gabriel Dumont Institute, says increasing the educational credentials of aboriginal people would allow them to move further into the economic mainstream and create a potential $90-billion boom.Saskatchewan could see an economic boom if the province's aboriginal population were better educated. "We have to do this, we have to have more programs to allow people to move into the economic mainstream by increasing their economic credentials," he said.

"Where else in the developed World can you make literally billions of dollars just by encouraging people to finish high school?"
