Thieves haul away 12-metre-long culvert

A brand new culvert — all 12 metres of it — was stolen from a ditch where it was set to be installed, RCMP say.
The unusual theft took place near Disley, Sask., about 40 kilometres northwest of Regina.
RCMP reported the dimensions, in imperial units, as 20 inches in diameter and 40 feet long.
"Definitely they would have to have a long vehicle to take something like that," Sgt. Craig Cleary, from the nearby Lumsden detachment of the RCMP, told CBC News Thursday. "Obviously somebody found a use for it and thought that they could use it."
RCMP figure the theft happened sometime between last Friday night and Tuesday morning.
"It seems a little bit bizarre," Cleary added. "But bizarre is not out of the realm of possibility in our line of work."
