Sask. teachers walk off job, rally at legislature

More than 2,000 school teachers rallied in front of the legislature in Regina on Thursday morning as part of a day of job action.
In addition to the rally, members of the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation will be holding study sessions thoughout the province.
In total, some 11,000 teachers were expected to be out of the classroom, although they'll be back on the job Friday.
Most schools were closed Thursday.
Teachers have been without a contract since last August.
They've given the STF a strike mandate. The union says a variety of sanctions will be considered, but that doesn't necessarily mean a full-scale strike.
They've been asking for a one-year increase of 12 per cent. School boards and the province are offering 1.5, 2, and 2 per cent over three years.
