Corey Matthews, 33, is scheduled to appear in Regina provincial court on April 25. FacebookA string of new sex charges involving an alleged teen victim has been laid against a Regina teacher.
Corey Matthews, 33, who's already facing charges involving three teenage boys after being arrested a year ago, was rearrested on April 21.
He's charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation and anal intercourse.
Regina police said on the weekend that the new charges allegedly involve a single male victim who was 15 years old when the incidents started happening.
The offences are alleged to have taken place between March 2006, and June 2007.
Matthews had been a teacher at Scott Collegiate and then at Winston Knoll Collegiate in Regina, although the public school board said last year that Matthews had not been teaching in the public system since January 2010.
He was well known in the community for working with inner-city teens and coaching basketball.
Matthews is scheduled to be in court on the new charges Monday morning.
