Flood forces 230 from Sask. reserve

About 230 people on Cowessess First Nation in Saskatchewan had to be rushed out of their homes in the face of rapidly-rising flood waters.
About 60 homes in a low-lying subdivision of the reservation, about 160 kilometres east of Regina, were evacuated Tuesday night.
"The mall got flooded last night, our main road also flooded over last night, so things aren't looking good," said band councillor Glenn Pelletier.
Melting snow and ice from nearby lakes and rivers hit parts of the community almost without warning this week.
People are being put up in Broadview, Grayson and Whitewood. As well, the town of Grayson has opened up its hall for people to sleep there.
Some reserve residents have gone to friends and families to stay. Others are staying at hotels in Broadview and Whitewood.
