A man from La Ronge, Sask., has been charged with manslaughter following the death of a man found unconscious on a road.

Corey Alexander Clarke, 23, has been charged in connection with the death of a 40-year-old man.

Police haven't named the victim. They said they have informed the family and the family doesn't want the name released.

The man was found unconscious on a road on the Bells Point reserve on Feb. 5.

He received first aid and was taken to the La Ronge Health Unit, but died.

Police have not said anything about the nature of his injuries.

However, an autopsy conducted Monday in Saskatoon revealed he did not die of natural causes and the death was suspicious, police said.

Clarke is in custody and is scheduled to appear in La Ronge provincial court on Wednesday morning.

La Ronge is about 380 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
