Regina police examine the scene of a sudden death at a Montreal Street home on Saturday. (Kent Morrison/CBC)Police are treating the death of a man at a party early Saturday as a homicide.
Police said they were called to 449 Montreal Street in Regina about 4:30 a.m. CST Saturday, responding to a complaint about a noisy house party.
Police discovered a seriously injured man, and paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Unconfirmed reports from neighbours who spoke with CBC News Saturday suggest the dead man may have been stabbed.
"Police are treating the death as a homicide pending confirmation through an autopsy ordered by the coroner," police spokeswoman Elizabeth Popowich said Saturday afternoon.
Police refused to offer details on the injuries sustained by the victim, nor would they identify him.
"The deceased person's identity has not yet been confirmed," Popowich said.
