CN Rail workers discovered the body of a man near railway tracks in Regina on Sunday morning.

The discovery was made at about 9:45 a.m. CST as a train passed through the area near the intersection of McKinley Avenue and Elphinstone Street, police said. The rail workers stopped the train and called 911.

Officers and paramedics could not resuscitate the man.

"At this time this is considered a suspicious death unless investigation indicates otherwise," police said in an emailed statement.

Investigators did not divulge the man's name pending notification of his family, but said he was 51 years old.
