Police say a foot in this running shoe was discovered washed up from the North Saskatchewan River in 1993. (RCMP)RCMP in Saskatchewan are still trying to figure out an unusual case from 1993, when a shoe with a foot in it washed up from the North Saskatchewan River.
The remains were discovered near Prince Albert, Sask.
On Tuesday, the RCMP's historical cases unit released a picture of the running shoe.
They also said the foot was examined by archaeology experts at the University of Saskatchewan.
"It was determined to be size ten and that of a robust male, big boned, and athletic," RCMP said in a media release.
They added that the man was likely between the ages of 30 and 60.
As for the running shoe, it was described as a navy blue, Blitz brand of footwear sold exclusively at Saan department stores between 1986 and 1989.
"RCMP ... are hoping someone may recognize the description [of the man], the running shoe or have information to assist on this investigation," police noted.
The number to reach the RCMP is 306-975-5153. Anonymous tips may be left at the Crime Stoppers number, 1-800-222-8477.
