Police are looking for a suspect who wore camouflage during store robberies. (Regina Police Service)A convenience store bandit clad in camouflage is being sought by Regina police who say he has hit a store twice in the last two days.
Images from one robbery show the camouflage almost works to allow the man to blend into the scene.
According to police, the first robbery took place Monday around 4:45 a.m. CST.
The man entered a Regina convenience store brandishing an edged weapon and demanded cash. He left with some money and lottery tickets.
This image, taken from a security camera, shows a convenience store clerk being threatened by a robber. The culprit is difficult to see because he is wearing a camouflage jacket. The man is just to the left of the clerk in red. (Regina Police Service)The second robbery, also believed to be by the same man, followed the same scenario just a few minutes after midnight on Tuesday. He again took cash and lottery tickets. He stole a customer's yellow-and-blue mountain bike to make his getaway.
While the man's outfit makes him difficult to discern in some of the surveillance images, police did get a description: aboriginal, aged 20 to 25, clean-shaven with some scars on his face.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Regina police at 306-777-6500 or through the anonymous Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-222-8477.
