A rural Saskatchewan woman died Friday when she was crushed by a structure that blew over in extremely high winds, RCMP say.
Police said it happened late Friday afternoon at a hog farm near the community of Goodeve, Sask., about 140 kilometres northeast of Regina.
Saskatchewan was slammed with dangerous winds on Friday that had been gusting, in some areas, to over 100 kilometers per hour.
Police said workers at the Big Sky Hog facility called them to the farm.
"The area suffered unusual high gusts of winds throughout the day," Staff Sgt. Ewen Booth reported Friday evening. "Investigators attended the scene and found that a 38-year-old Goodeve-area resident was killed when a building on skids blew over and crushed her between the vehicle and the building."
The woman's name was not released.
Booth said that RCMP, the coroner's office and officials from the province's occupational health and safety division were investigating.
