A 50-year-old woman is recovering after being stabbed Friday morning while using an automated banking machine in North Battleford, police say.

The attack happened at about 7:15 am CT in a business on the 1100 block of 101st Street.

RCMP said the woman was stabbed and robbed.

They said she was treated in hospital for an injury described as not life-threatening.

A 29-year-old man, believed to be responsible for the attack was arrested. Police did not provide details of how he was apprehended but said he was detained without incident.

No charges were announced by police, who said their investigation was ongoing.

North Battleford is a community of 13,190 about 130 kilometres west of Saskatoon.
