A 10-year-old boy was killed by a pack of dogs on a northern Saskatchewan reserve, his relatives said Sunday.

Police found the boy's body in a yard at the Canoe Lake First Nation about 11:25 a.m. CT on Saturday. But they have not disclosed his name or the cause of death.

Foul play was not suspected in his death, police said earlier in the day, as officers investigated.

Relatives identified the boy as Keith Iron. The boy's uncle, Lawrence Iron, said Keith was attacked by dogs while he was walking to his cousin's house, the same walk his nephew made every morning.

"Close to the house, a bunch of dogs attacked him," Iron said. "It's really hard, especially on the father. It's hard on me, too."

Canoe Lake is about 450 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
