Police in Onion Lake, Sask., have identified the 16-year-old boy killed in the community this weekend.

RCMP said Keeley Winslow Crookedneck died at some point early Saturday morning in a home in the small town located about 50 kilometres north of Lloydminster.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday in Saskatoon, but RCMP Cpl. Kelly West said the cause of the teen's death will not be revealed to the public.

Police said friends found the boy in the home and called 911 for help, but by the time emergency crews arrived Crookedneck was already dead.

A 20-year-old man was charged with second-degree murder on Sunday in connection with the death, West said.

Cassidy Stanley Lewis is in custody and will make a first appearance in a Lloydminster courtroom on Monday morning, police said.
