An employee of the Workers' Compensation Board was arrested Thursday morning at the board's Regina office as part of an investigation into alleged pirating of movie DVDs.

Officials with the board confirmed the case involves one of its employees but said it does not involve information about clients of the board.

The RCMP said their Regina border section got warrants to search a home and office in the city.

"The searches were conducted as part of an investigation into the piracy and distribution of movie DVDs, which are protected by copyright laws," Sgt. Carole Raymond said. The laws include sections of the Criminal Code and the Copyright Act, she said.

The 37-year-old man who was taken into custody has not been charged.

The investigation began Sept. 23, police said.
