The New Democrats, including newly elected NDP Leader Dwain Lingenfelter, won both provincial byelections on Monday.
Lingenfelter won in Regina Douglas Park, while Danielle Chartier won the seat in Saskatoon Riversdale. All polling stations have reported in each riding.
Lingenfelter took 50 per cent of the votes in Regina Douglas Park, compared with 42 per cent for his closest rival, Kathleen Peterson of the Saskatchewan Party.
He replaces veteran New Democrat Harry Van Mulligen, who retired at the end of June after 23 years in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan.
Chartier won 53 per cent of the votes in Saskatoon Riversdale, compared with 42 per cent for her closest rival, Corey O'Soup of the Saskatchewan Party.
Chartier fills the seat vacated by former premier Lorne Calvert, who retired from politics in May.
The Saskatchewan Party currently holds 38 of 58 seats in the legislature, while the NDP has 20.
